Sterlite Technologies Limited (STL) has expanded its long-standing partnership with Netomnia, the UK’s second-largest alternative network provider, to accelerate rollout of a future-ready full-fibre network across the country.
Under the new multi-year agreement, STL will deliver end-to-end FTTH connectivity solutions, including advanced optical fibre cables and connectivity systems, designed to speed up deployment and reduce costs. The company said its fibre solutions cut average area usage by ~20%, improving duct utilisation and reducing carbon footprint.
Netomnia is currently building a 10 Gbps XGS-PON full-fibre network and, together with YouFibre and brsk, serves 2.8 million premises. The operator aims to reach three million premises by the end of 2025 and five million by 2027.
Commenting on the deal, STL’s Optical Networking Business CEO Rahul Puri said the partnership reflects a “shared vision to co-create, co-innovate, and build a connected and transformative future.” Netomnia Group CEO Jeremy Chelot added that STL’s technology and co-development approach enable the network to deliver “at speed and scale”.
