Star Cement Limited has announced the commencement of commercial production at a new grinding unit in Assam, marking a fresh capacity addition in the North East region.
In a regulatory filing under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, the company informed that its subsidiary, Star Cement North East Limited, has successfully commenced commercial production at its new grinding unit with a capacity of 2.0 MTPA (million tonnes per annum).
The facility is located in Cachar, Assam, and began operations on February 20, 2026. With this commissioning, the company has expanded its grinding capacity in a region that continues to see infrastructure development and construction-led demand. The addition is expected to enhance operational capabilities and improve supply efficiency across key markets in the North East.
The company stated that the disclosure has been made in compliance with applicable listing regulations and will also be available on its official website under stock exchange updates, in line with Regulation 30(8) of the Listing Regulations.
