Soufflet Malt has announced plans to build a new state-of-the-art malthouse in South Rajasthan in partnership with United Breweries. According to the company’s press release dated February 20, 2026 , the facility will have an initial malt production capacity of 110,000 tonnes per year, with plans to double capacity in the second phase.

The first phase of the project is expected to be commissioned in early 2028. The new plant will supply high-quality malt for brewing brands such as Kingfisher and Heineken, strengthening backward integration and supply security for United Breweries.

The project is also expected to create around 400 direct and indirect jobs and 700 roles across the supply chain. In addition, the companies plan to empower and train over 50,000 Indian farmers and source up to 250,000 tonnes of barley annually.

The facility will incorporate zero liquid discharge systems, advanced water management initiatives and digital grain handling systems, reflecting a focus on sustainability and decarbonization.
