Sona BLW Precision Forgings Limited has announced the acquisition of the ‘Railway Equipment Division’ of Escorts Kubota Limited. The acquisition, valued at ₹1,600 crore, will be executed as a slump sale, with the business being transferred as a going concern.
The Railway Equipment Division of Escorts Kubota is engaged in manufacturing, assembly, sales, and servicing of railway equipment products. The acquisition aligns with Sona BLW’s vision to expand its mobility technology offerings.
The deal is subject to regulatory approvals, including those from Indian Railways and the Research Design and Standards Organisation. Completion is expected by September 30, 2025.
