Solarworld Energy Solutions has shared a major business update, announcing that the company has officially signed a Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreement (BESPA) for a large-scale storage project in Gujarat. The agreement was executed on 8 December 2025 at 3 PM and marks a significant milestone for the company in India’s growing clean-energy storage sector.

Under this contract, Solarworld will develop a 200 MW / 400 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) for Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL). The project falls under the “on-demand” usage category of Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding – Phase VI, following the earlier Letter of Intent issued on 28 May 2025.

The order—classified as a commercial, domestic contract—is valued at approximately ₹806.40 crore (excluding taxes) over a 12-year period, which is also the execution timeline for the project. The company clarified that neither the promoters nor group entities have any interest in GUVNL, and the order does not fall under related-party transactions.
