Commercial vehicle maker SML Isuzu Ltd. reported a decline in sales for August 2025 even as production edged higher.
According to the company’s exchange filing, sales fell 12.5% year-on-year to 815 units, compared to 932 units in August 2024. Exports were also weaker, with just 27 units shipped versus 58 units in the same month last year.
Production, however, showed improvement, rising to 1,045 units in August 2025 from 974 units a year earlier.
The mixed performance highlights ongoing pressure in the domestic and overseas commercial vehicle markets, even as manufacturing activity picks up.
SML Isuzu shares will likely be in focus as investors track whether the company can sustain production momentum amid slower sales.
