Samvardhana Motherson International Limited (Motherson) has secured Tier 1 supplier status for Airbus commercial aircraft, marking a significant milestone in its aerospace business. The company, through its subsidiary CIM Tools India Pvt. Ltd., has signed a multi-year contract to manufacture and deliver aerospace components and assemblies directly to Airbus’ final assembly lines.
The production will take place at Motherson’s specialized aerospace facility in Bengaluru. Notably, Motherson is already a Tier 1 supplier for Airbus Helicopters and Airbus Defence and Space.
Vivek Chaand Sehgal, Chairman of Motherson, expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating, “This significant achievement highlights Motherson’s manufacturing capabilities, high-quality standards, and commitment to timely delivery. Our team is dedicated to delivering the highest quality components and strengthening our partnership with Airbus.”
Kunal Bajaj, President of Motherson’s Aerospace Business Division, highlighted the growth potential, stating that the Tier 1 status with Airbus Commercial will drive business expansion. He emphasized the company’s ongoing investments in advanced manufacturing technologies to meet the growing demands of global aerospace customers.
Motherson’s aerospace division operates 16 facilities across four countries, providing critical components for aircraft from nose to tail. The company continues to expand its presence in non-automotive sectors, including technology, industrial solutions, health & medical, and logistics.
