Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has been awarded a contract worth ₹115.79 crore by Central Railway for the upgradation of electric traction systems. The Letter of Acceptance (LOA) pertains to modification work on the Overhead Equipment (OHE) system to transition from a 1×25 kV to a 2×25 kV configuration in the Itarsi–Amla section, under the Nagpur Division.
This infrastructure enhancement is aimed at supporting a freight movement target of 3000 metric tonnes. The work, categorized under general contract conditions, will be carried out over a period of 24 months. The project includes all applicable taxes within the total value of ₹115,79,37,241.11.
In the exchange filing, the company shared, “Rail Vikas Nigam Limited has received LOA from Central Railway for “OHE Modification Work for Up-gradation of existing 1×25 KV Electric Traction System to 2×25 KV at Feeding System in Itarsi – Amla Section in Nagpur Division of Central Railway to meet 3000 MT Loading Target.”
The contract has been issued by a domestic entity, Central Railway, and does not involve any related party transactions or interest from RVNL’s promoter or group companies.
