Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has emerged as the Lowest Bidder (L1) by the North Eastern Railway for a major electrification and capacity-enhancement project in the Lucknow division of Northern Railway. The work involves the complete design, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of OHE modification and feeder wire systems under the 2×25 kV traction framework for the UTR–MWP section, covering 184 route kilometres and 368 track kilometres.

The project has been tendered under the General Contract Conditions, and the awarding entity is a domestic government organisation. The nature of work is fully domestic, with no involvement of any international component. RVNL is expected to complete the entire scope within a period of 24 months.

The contract value stands at ₹180,77,92,324.55, inclusive of applicable taxes, reflecting the scale of modernisation planned for this key section. RVNL has also clarified that neither the promoter nor the promoter group holds any interest in the awarding entity, and the contract does not fall under related-party transactions.
