Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has secured a significant contract from Central Railway for the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of a 132/55 KV traction substation, along with sectioning posts (SPs) and sub-sectioning posts (SSPs).

This project will be executed in the Bhusaval-Khandwa section of Central Railway under the 2 x 25 KV traction system using a Scott Connected Transformer. The primary objective of this initiative is to meet the 3000 MT loading target, ensuring enhanced railway electrification and operational efficiency.

In the exchange filing, the company shared, “Rail Vikas Nigam Limited has received Letter of Acceptance from Central Railway for “Design, Supply, Erection, Testing & Commissioning of 132/55 KV Traction Substation, Sectioning post (SPs) and Sub sectioning post (SSPs) in 2 x 25 KV Traction System (Scott Connected Transformer) of Bhusaval – Khandwa Sections of Central Railway, to meet 3000 MT loading target on EPC mode.”

The contract, valued at approximately ₹135.66 crore, has been awarded under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode. Being a domestic contract, it follows the General Contract Conditions outlined by Central Railway. The project is set to be completed within 24 months, emphasizing timely execution and adherence to quality standards.
