RITES Limited has announced that it has secured a significant international contract from Ntokoto Rail Holdings Pty. Ltd. The contract involves the supply and commissioning of overhauled in-service Cape Gauge ALCO Diesel Electric Locomotives. These locomotives will be fitted with new Cape Gauge Bogies, Traction Motors, Control Systems, and Air Brakes, and will undergo overhaul at a nominated facility. The deal also includes one year of on-site warranty support.
The contract, valued at approximately ₹453.61 crore, is expected to be executed within six months. RITES confirmed that this is not a related party transaction, and the promoter group does not have any interest in the entity awarding the contract.
This order strengthens RITES’ presence in the international market, highlighting its expertise in locomotive overhaul and commissioning services.
