Refex Renewables & Infrastructure Limited has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Refex Green Power Limited (RGPL), has received a Letter of Acceptance from Salem City Municipal Corporation for a major bio-CNG infrastructure project.
The contract pertains to the establishment of a 200 TPD (tonnes per day) municipal solid waste-based bio-CNG plant in Salem, Tamil Nadu. The project will be implemented under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode on a Design, Build, Finance, Operate, and Transfer (DBFOT) basis for a period of 20 years.
According to the regulatory filing, the project is estimated at Rs 65.07 crore and will be executed as part of the Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 2.0 initiative. The scheduled commissioning date for full project capacity is 19 months from the date of signing the concession agreement, which is expected to occur within 30 days from the issuance of the LOA on March 28, 2025.
This order highlights Refex Renewables’ growing role in India’s sustainable infrastructure ecosystem, aligning with national goals of waste management and renewable energy generation.
The company clarified that this is a domestic order and does not constitute a related party transaction.
