Refex Industries has secured an order worth approximately Rs 32.45 crore for the transportation of pond ash to NHAI PWD road construction sites, according to a regulatory filing dated Thursday, April 16.

The contract has been awarded by a Maharatna public sector company, reinforcing Refex Industries’ presence in infrastructure-linked logistics and environmental services. The scope of the order involves transportation of pond ash, a byproduct of thermal power plants, for use in road construction projects undertaken by NHAI and PWD authorities.

As per the details outlined in the annexure on page 2 of the filing, the contract is domestic in nature and is scheduled to be executed over a period of one year, with a provision for extension of up to six months. The order size, including GST, stands at around Rs 32.45 crore.

The company clarified that the transaction does not fall under related party transactions, and neither the promoter nor promoter group has any interest in the awarding entity. This ensures that the deal has been secured on an arm’s length basis.

The order highlights growing opportunities in the utilisation of industrial byproducts such as pond ash in infrastructure development, particularly in road construction, where sustainable material usage is gaining traction. The contract also strengthens Refex Industries’ order book visibility in the near term, supported by continued government focus on infrastructure expansion.
