realme, a leading smartphone and consumer tech brand, has announced a partnership with Optiemus Electronics Ltd. (OEL) to manufacture its upcoming range of AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) products in India. This collaboration supports the Indian government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative and aims to strengthen the local electronics manufacturing ecosystem.
Under this partnership, realme plans to produce its entire AIoT product portfolio domestically. This includes categories such as earphones, smartwatches, and tablets. Starting this year, locally manufactured products will include the realme Buds T200 series, realme Buds Wireless series, and realme Buds Air series.
In addition to assembly, realme is working to source the majority of key components—such as PCBAs, batteries, mechanical parts, cables, and chargers—from Indian suppliers. This move is expected to reduce dependence on imports and build a more resilient local supply chain.
realme is also exploring the possibility of exporting its Made-in-India AIoT products to international markets. This effort aligns with its goal to position India not just as a production base but also as a center for innovation and global distribution.
The realme-OEL partnership targets an annual production capacity of 5 million AIoT devices and is projected to create over 2,000 jobs in India. The collaboration has already begun with the manufacturing of the realme Buds T200 Lite. This product features Dual Mic AI Deep Call Noise Cancellation, supported by DNN voice recognition technology.
