Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has received a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) for the development of distribution infrastructure in the Central Zone of Himachal Pradesh. The contract, awarded under the Revamped Reforms-based and Results-linked Distribution Sector Scheme (Loss Reduction Work), is valued at Rs 729.82 crore, including applicable taxes.
The project falls within the normal course of business for RVNL and aims to strengthen the power distribution network in the region. The scope of the contract includes upgrading and expanding the existing power infrastructure, enhancing efficiency, and reducing distribution losses in line with government reforms. The contract is set to be executed over a period of 24 months.
RVNL confirmed that the contract has been awarded by a domestic entity and does not fall under related party transactions. The project aligns with the government’s push for improving power distribution infrastructure and ensuring reliable electricity supply across states.
The company has been actively securing infrastructure projects, further solidifying its position in the sector. This latest development adds to its growing portfolio of contracts in the power and infrastructure domain.
