PTC Industries Limited, a prominent manufacturer of high-quality engineering metal components, has received a significant production order from BAE Systems for the supply of titanium castings for the M777 Ultra-Lightweight Howitzer (ULH). This includes crucial parts such as spade trails and blades, marking an important milestone in PTC Industries’ collaboration with BAE Systems and its role in advanced defense technology.

The titanium castings, developed over the last two years, are essential for the 155mm M777 ULH, known for its lightweight and superior mobility. PTC Industries will manufacture these complex and lightweight components at its state-of-the-art production facility in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. With a weight of about 4.2 MT, the M777 is the world’s lightest towed howitzer gun, achieved through the extensive use of thin-walled titanium castings. This design enables the M777 to be transportable by helicopter, significantly enhancing its operational mobility.

Mr. Sachin Agarwal, Chairman & Managing Director of PTC Industries, expressed enthusiasm for the order, stating, “We are thrilled to receive this serial production order from BAE Systems for this significant project. This order not only enhances our partnership with BAE Systems but also showcases our proficiency in producing highly complex and thin-walled titanium castings for such critical applications, making us among the few companies globally with this capability.”

PTC Industries’ advanced manufacturing capabilities and innovation-focused approach underscore its commitment to the defense sector and support the “Make in India – Make for the World” initiative. This order further solidifies its position as a leader in producing high-quality titanium castings for defense applications, emphasizing the company’s ability to deliver mission-critical components for sophisticated artillery systems like the M777 ULH.
