PSP Projects Limited has achieved a historic engineering milestone by completing the world’s largest raft foundation for a religious structure at the Vishv Umiya Dham temple site in Jaspur, Ahmedabad. The company poured 24,000 cubic meters of temperature-controlled concrete in just 54 hours, breaking the earlier planned timeline of 72 hours .
The feat, recognized by the Golden Book of World Records, marks a significant milestone in the construction of what is set to be the world’s tallest temple at 504 feet. The foundation is designed with a projected lifespan of 500 years, combining ancient Vedic traditions with modern engineering excellence.
A landmark in civil engineering
The project commenced on September 15, 2025 — World Engineer’s Day — and concluded on September 17. Chairman and Managing Director Shri P.S. Patel called the achievement “a new benchmark in civil engineering,” emphasizing meticulous planning, technological innovation, and the dedication of over 600 personnel working in shifts .
Massive scale of operations
The record-setting pour required unprecedented logistics support:
- Cement used: 3,600 tons
- GGBS: 6,480 MT
- Ice for temperature control: 3,250 MT
- Machinery: 29 RMC plants, 280 transit mixers (4,100 trips), and 19 concrete pumps
Adani Cements was the official supplier for the project. Advanced monitoring systems, including real-time vehicle tracking and centralized data management, ensured perfect synchronization between material production and delivery .
Spiritual and national significance
The Vishv Umiya Foundation’s temple project is envisioned as both a spiritual landmark and a national symbol, reinforcing India’s cultural and engineering prowess. With PSP Projects’ successful foundation execution, the project is now firmly on track to become a global marvel.
