Prism Johnson Ltd posted a sharp turnaround in profitability for the quarter ended March 31, 2025 (Q4 FY25), with consolidated net profit rising to ₹121.01 crore compared to a loss of ₹30.50 crore in the same quarter last year. The gains were backed by stable revenue and a significant improvement in operating performance.

Revenue and Income Performance

Total income for Q4 FY25 came in at ₹2,115.19 crore, up marginally from ₹2,075.56 crore in Q4 FY24. Revenue from operations stood at ₹2,073.39 crore during the quarter, nearly flat year-on-year compared to ₹2,030.79 crore in the previous year. Other income increased to ₹12.86 crore from ₹9.70 crore.

EBITDA Grows 71%, Margin Expands

Prism Johnson reported Q4 EBITDA of ₹1.9 billion (₹190 crore), a sharp increase from ₹1.11 billion (₹111 crore) in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The EBITDA margin expanded to 9% in Q4 FY25 from 5.44% a year ago, reflecting stronger operating efficiency and cost discipline.

Cost Control Drives Profitability

Total expenses were at ₹2,103.15 crore, down slightly from ₹2,132.24 crore last year. Key components like freight, fuel, and other expenses were managed efficiently, while depreciation and finance costs remained stable.

Profit Before Tax and Exceptional Items

Profit before tax (before exceptional items and share of JV profits) rose to ₹165.97 crore versus a loss of ₹56.68 crore in Q4 FY24. Share of profit from associates and joint ventures also contributed ₹6.60 crore, higher than the ₹4.56 crore last year.

Net Profit and Taxation

The company reported a tax expense of ₹44 crore, including deferred tax. Net profit for the quarter stood at ₹121.01 crore, marking a sharp recovery from a loss of ₹30.50 crore in the year-ago period.

Full-Year Snapshot

For the full financial year FY25, total income stood at ₹7,438.38 crore, nearly unchanged from ₹7,461.16 crore in FY24. However, net profit for FY25 came in lower at ₹45.11 crore, compared to ₹161.93 crore in FY24, due to higher exceptional losses and adjustments.
