Prism Johnson has shared an update regarding its supply partner RLJ Cement Limited’s capacity expansion project at the Mirzapur Plant in Uttar Pradesh. As per RLJ’s latest communication dated July 22, 2025, the enhanced cement production capacity is nearing completion. While the original plan aimed for an addition of 0.36 MTPA by June 30, 2025, the revised output will be 0.208 MTPA, now scheduled to be operational by September 30, 2025. Post-expansion, RLJ’s total cement capacity will stand at 0.508 MTPA.
The two companies are bound by a Non-Exclusive Supply Agreement, under which RLJ manufactures cement as per Prism Cement’s quality standards for onward sales. Despite the delay in enhanced production, Prism Johnson confirmed that its operations in Uttar Pradesh remain unaffected. The company will continue meeting regional demand through its Satna (Madhya Pradesh) plant.
Additionally, Prism Johnson’s overall outsourced cement grinding capacity will increase from the current 1.08 MTPA to 1.288 MTPA by September 2025, due to agreements with multiple grinding units. This expansion strengthens Prism’s supply chain flexibility and its commitment to serving the growing demand in northern India.
