Premier Energies Limited announced on Monday, September 29, that it has secured landmark contracts worth USD 19.95 million for solar electrification projects in the Republic of Benin, West Africa.
The scope of the projects includes the installation of 750 rooftop solar systems across key community facilities such as police stations, schools, health centres, and special border surveillance units. Additionally, the company will install over 4,400 high-efficiency solar streetlights and 650 solar water heaters, forming a crucial part of Benin’s national initiative to improve access to sustainable and reliable energy.
The projects will be implemented in collaboration with the General Directorate of Energy Planning and Rural Electrification under Benin’s Ministry of Energy, Water and Mines. Financing has been secured via a Line of Credit from the Export-Import Bank of India (EXIM Bank) and the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID).
