Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has recently informed exchanges that the company has emerged as the successful bidder for a transmission system project in Rajasthan.

The project, granted under tariff-based competitive bidding, includes setting up a new substation and transmission lines. POWERGRID obtained the Letter of Intent on October 9, 2024.

In the exchange filing, the company shared, “Power Grid Corporation of India Limited has been declared as the successful bidder under Tariff based competitive bidding to establish Inter-State transmission system for the project namely “Transmission system for evacuation of power from Rajasthan REZ Ph -IV (Part-2: 5.5 GW) (Jaisalmer/Barmer Complex): Part F (By clubbing Part F1 & F2)” on build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) basis. The Letter of Intent (LoI) has been received by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited on 09th October, 2024.

The project comprises the establishment of new 765/400/220kV Barmer-I Pooling substation, 765kV & 400kV D/C Transmission Lines and associated bays extension works at other existing substation in the State of Rajasthan.”
