Polycab India Limited has announced another order, with total now of two significant contract wins from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) worth a combined total of ₹5,649.36 crore, inclusive of GST. These contracts, designated as Package 4 and Package 7, cover the development, upgrade, and maintenance of BSNL’s BharatNet infrastructure across various regions in India.

Package 4, which involves operations in Karnataka, Goa, and Puducherry, has been valued at ₹4,099.69 crore and was previously communicated to the stock exchanges. Meanwhile, Package 7, focused on the Bihar region, is valued at ₹1,549.66 crore, with details newly disclosed to the market.

Under the terms of Package 7, Polycab will engage in the creation, upgradation, and maintenance of BSNL’s middle-mile network for BharatNet, employing a Design-Build-Operate-Maintain (DBOM) model. The contract spans three years for construction, followed by a ten-year maintenance period. Polycab will be compensated at a rate of 5.5% per annum of capital expenditure (capex) for the first five years and 6.5% per annum for the subsequent five years.

Both packages fall under domestic contracts and do not constitute related-party transactions. Polycab clarified that the company and its promoter groups hold no interest in BSNL, ensuring that these deals are at arm’s length.

These substantial projects underline Polycab’s role in expanding India’s digital infrastructure, further strengthening its position as a leading provider of network solutions across the nation.
