PG Electroplast Limited (PGEL), through its wholly owned subsidiary PG Technoplast Pvt Ltd (PGTL), has announced the acquisition of a 50-acre land parcel in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, marking its largest land acquisition and first major expansion into South India.
The company plans to invest ₹1,000 crore over the next five years to develop an integrated manufacturing campus. The first phase will see the establishment of a refrigerator plant with an annual capacity of 1.2 million units, expected to begin commercial production by December 2026.
Located strategically near Chennai port, the facility will strengthen PGEL’s export potential while enhancing its pan-India footprint. The site is also designed for future expansion into air conditioners, washing machines, and other home appliances.
Managing Director – Operations, Vikas Gupta, called this a “proud milestone” for the group, adding that the new facility will help build long-term customer and community engagement.
The project is expected to generate over 500 jobs in the region during the first phase, contributing to Andhra Pradesh’s industrial growth and India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision.
