Paytm boosts financial inclusivity for farmers with 800 new EDC devices in Madhya Pradesh

One 97 Communications Limited (OCL), which owns the Paytm brand, has recently informed exchanges that it has deployed 800 Paytm EDC devices (card machines) all through 42 Krishi Mandis in Madhya Pradesh. This important project enables traders and farmers at the Mandis by making transactions simpler and more safe, hence increasing financial inclusivity and operational efficiency in the local agricultural community.

For the first time, the Krishi Mandi app in Madhya Pradesh has been connected with Paytm EDC devices (card machines), signalling a turning point in the digital revolution of agricultural sales. This ground-breaking effort is transforming the industry by digitizing the sales process, lowering costs and decreasing transaction times for farmers, traders and other stakeholders.

In the exchange filing, the company also shared, “Paytm plans to continue expanding this service, with a goal to deploy an additional 1,300 card machines, across various Krishi Mandis over the next two years. This initiative reflects Paytm’s commitment to addressing real-world challenges and enhancing digital empowerment in India’s agricultural communities.”
