Patel Engineering Limited (PEL), in a joint venture, has secured an irrigation infrastructure project worth Rs. 958.33 crore from the Maharashtra Krishna Valley Development Corporation (MKVDC), Pune. PEL’s share in the contract is Rs. 191.67 crore, representing a 20% stake in the joint venture.

The awarded contract involves the construction of a Pipeline Distribution Network for the Nira Deoghar Right Bank Main Canal between KM 87 to KM 135, including associated distributaries and minor canals from KM 65 to KM 135. The project is situated in Kalaj village, Taluka Phaltan, District Satara, Maharashtra.

PEL was previously declared the L1 (lowest bidder) for this project. The timeline for completion is set at 36 months.

The project scope includes excavation, refilling of pipe trenches, supply and installation of various pipeline components, including valves, chambers, and outlets. Additionally, the contract encompasses a five-year period of operations, repairs, and maintenance post-completion.

This development marks another step in the state’s continued efforts to expand and modernize its irrigation infrastructure.
