Paras Defence and Space Technologies Ltd has taken a significant step in India’s defence and drone industry by signing a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MicroCon Vision Ltd, Israel. This collaboration strengthens India-Israel defence ties and positions Paras Defence as the exclusive supplier of advanced drone camera technology in India at significantly reduced costs.
The partnership will enable Paras Defence to integrate high indigenous content in drone cameras and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) payloads, enhancing self-reliance while lowering procurement costs. Currently, such imported payloads cost around ₹20-40 lakh per unit, but Paras Defence expects to cut prices by 50-60%, making state-of-the-art surveillance more accessible to defence and commercial sectors.
MicroCon Vision Ltd, part of Controp and the Rafael Group, will be Paras Defence’s exclusive supplier for ISR payloads and Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) seekers, while Paras Defence will act as MicroCon’s exclusive partner for ISR operations in India. The integration of AI-powered analytics, high-resolution imaging, and thermal vision will further enhance surveillance capabilities, improving efficiency in defence, homeland security, disaster management, and industrial applications.
As India’s drone market gears up for a projected 17% growth by 2029, this collaboration fills a crucial gap by reducing dependence on costly imports. The partnership aligns with the Indian government’s push for self-reliance in defence manufacturing and reinforces the country’s position as a global hub for advanced technology production.
