Oriana Power Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the New and Renewable Energy Department, Government of Assam, during the Investment and Infrastructure Summit 2025 in Guwahati. This partnership aims to drive renewable energy adoption in the state, reinforcing India’s commitment to sustainability.
As part of this strategic agreement, Oriana Power will invest ₹500 crore to develop solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS) projects in Assam’s Kamrup district. These projects will enhance the state’s energy security, promote green energy solutions, and contribute to India’s clean energy transition.
The MoU aligns with Assam’s renewable energy goals, encouraging investment in sustainable infrastructure. While this agreement marks a significant step, further regulatory approvals and formal contracts will be pursued before project implementation.
