Optiemus Infracom Limited are in focus today after the company announced an investment of Rs 21 crore into its joint venture cum subsidiary, Bharat Innovative Glass Technologies Private Limited (BIGTech). The investment, approved by the company’s Operations and Administration Committee on March 24, 2025, will be made by subscribing to a rights issue of 2.1 crore equity shares at Rs 10 each.
BIGTech, incorporated in October 2023, is a joint venture between Optiemus and Corning International Corporation. The venture is currently setting up a manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu to produce finished cover glass for next-generation mobile consumer electronic devices.
This cash-based investment aims to support BIGTech’s funding requirements for setting up the plant and associated business expenses, while also helping Optiemus retain its 70% ownership in the venture. Post-acquisition, Optiemus will hold 8.87 crore shares in BIGTech.
Optiemus highlighted that the transaction qualifies as a related party transaction but is being executed at arm’s length. No regulatory approval is required, and the deal is expected to close within 120 days.
