Olectra Greentech has declared the commencement of Phase-I commercial operations at its greenfield electric vehicle manufacturing facility in Hyderabad, marking a key operational milestone for the company.
In a regulatory filing dated January 1, 2026, Olectra Greentech informed stock exchanges that December 31, 2025 has been declared as the Commercial Operation Date (COD) for its EV manufacturing facility located at Seetharampur, Hyderabad, Telangana. The declaration has also been communicated to State Bank of India, the company’s lender.
The Phase-I facility has an annual per-shift production capacity of 2,500 electric buses, which represents 50% of the planned per-shift annual capacity of 5,000 buses. The company stated that this milestone reflects the successful completion and operational readiness of the first phase of the project.
The Hyderabad greenfield plant is expected to support Olectra Greentech’s growing electric bus manufacturing requirements as public transport electrification gains momentum across states and urban bodies. The company did not provide a timeline for Phase-II capacity expansion in the filing.
Olectra Greentech operates in the electric mobility segment, primarily focused on electric buses and related solutions, and supplies vehicles to state transport undertakings and other institutional customers across India.
The update was disclosed under Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, as part of the company’s material event disclosures.
