Nucleus Software Exports on Wednesday announced the celebration of 25 years of partnership and innovation in Japan, marking a key milestone in its global journey. The company hosted a commemorative event at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, bringing together senior leaders from Japan’s financial sector, global fintech ecosystem and long-standing partners.

According to the company’s press release, the event underscored Nucleus Software’s long-term commitment to Japan’s financial ecosystem and its role in driving global fintech collaboration. Senior executives from institutions including Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, SBI Shinsei Bank, Mizuho Bank, Toyota Financial Services and Nippon Steel were present at the gathering.

The event opened with a traditional Japanese Shamisen performance, symbolising the balance between heritage and innovation that has defined Nucleus Software’s engagement with Japan over the past quarter century. Former Shinsei Bank Chairman and CEO Masamoto Yashiro highlighted the importance of early technology-led transformation in Japan’s banking sector and acknowledged contributions made during Shinsei Bank’s digital evolution.

Keynote speaker Akio Isowa, Senior Managing Executive Officer and Group CDIO of SMBC Group, spoke about SMBC’s digital initiatives across Japan and globally, noting Nucleus Software’s continued support in India and the alignment of long-term vision between the partners. The evening also featured a fireside discussion on SBI Shinsei Bank’s transformation journey and future digital roadmap.

Senior leaders from global fintech and regulatory advisory bodies discussed Japan’s growing role in the global fintech landscape, with a focus on AI governance, trusted financial infrastructure and cross-border collaboration.
