NTPC Limited recently informed executives that the company has signed a Joint Venture Agreement with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL) for the Chhabra Thermal Power Plant.
The joint venture will own and manage the 2320 MW plant (Stage-1: 4×250 MW units and Stage-2: 2×660 MW units), as well as explore opportunities for capacity expansion. NTPC will have management control and appoint the CEO, CFO, and COO.
The agreement establishes a 50:50 joint venture between NTPC and RVUNL, allowing both parties to share ownership and operational responsibilities for the power plant.
The partnership is not only focused on the current operational management of the Chhabra plant but also aims to explore opportunities for capacity expansion, ensuring the plant’s future growth and efficiency.
