NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited, has recently emerged as a successful bidder in the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) e-reverse auction held on December 9, 2024. The auction was conducted for the development of 2000 MW ISTS-connected Solar PV Power Projects, including Energy Storage Systems (ESS) of 1000 MW/4000 MWh capacity.
NTPC REL secured a capacity of 500 MW at a competitive tariff of ₹3.52 per kWh. As part of the agreement, the company will also establish a 250 MW/1000 MWh ESS to complement the solar capacity. This achievement underscores NTPC REL’s commitment to accelerating India’s transition to renewable energy.
The Letter of Award (LOA) from SECI is expected soon. This achievement reinforces NTPC REL’s commitment to expanding its green energy portfolio and contributing to sustainable energy solutions.
