In a significant step towards India’s energy transition, NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) and Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company Limited (MPPGCL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on February 24, 2025. The MoU was exchanged during the Global Investors Summit 2025 in Bhopal, in the presence of Dr. Mohan Yadav, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Sh. Gurdeep Singh, CMD (NTPC), and other key dignitaries.

This collaboration aims to develop renewable energy projects in Madhya Pradesh, with a target of 20 GW or more through solar, wind, and hybrid energy solutions, with or without storage. The partnership will focus on forming a Joint Venture Company (JVC) to help Madhya Pradesh meet its Renewable Generation Obligation (RGO) and Renewable Purchase Obligation (RPO).

With this initiative, NGEL and MPPGCL will drive clean energy adoption, enhance power availability, and contribute to India’s sustainable energy goals. The partnership is expected to create investment opportunities, boost local employment, and position Madhya Pradesh as a leader in renewable energy development.
