NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) and Bharat Light and Power (BLP) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to accelerate India’s green energy transition. The partnership aims to explore green hydrogen off-take and carbon capture opportunities, aligning with the Government of India’s carbon neutrality goals.
The MoU was exchanged between Sh. DMR Panda, Chief General Manager & Head of Hydrogen, NTPC, and Sh. T P Chopra, President & CEO, BLP, at SCOPE Complex, New Delhi, in the presence of senior officials from both organizations.
Under this agreement, NGEL and its affiliates will develop the necessary infrastructure for green hydrogen projects, including renewable energy (RE) facilities, to support long-term sustainability. Additionally, the partnership will explore avenues for selling captured carbon and biogenic carbon.
This collaboration marks a significant step in India’s clean energy journey, reinforcing commitments to a net-zero future. With green hydrogen emerging as a key energy source, the NGEL-BLP partnership is poised to drive innovation and boost the country’s renewable energy ecosystem.
