NHPC Limited has provided updates regarding its Subansiri Lower HE Project (2000 MW) in Arunachal Pradesh/Assam and the Teesta-V Power Station (510 MW) in Sikkim:

Subansiri Lower HE Project

  • Completion Timeline: Three units of 250 MW each are anticipated to be completed by May 2025. The remaining five units (250 MW each) will be completed in a phased manner by May 2026.
  • Current Status: The project is undergoing final stages of development and testing.

Teesta-V Power Station

  • Flash Flood Impact (October 2023):
    • Estimated damage: ₹1,075.97 crore (₹538.70 crore for material damage and ₹537.27 crore for business interruption loss).
    • Insurance Claims: ₹150 crore has been received for material damage, with ₹250 crore for business interruption under advanced approval stages.
    • Restoration efforts: Major civil and HM packages awarded; restoration activities are in progress.
  • Landslide Impact (August 2024):
    • Estimated damage: ₹327.67 crore towards material damage.
    • Restoration Efforts: Debris removal and component inspections are ongoing. Contracts for further restoration are in advanced tendering stages.

NHPC continues to work on restoration and ensuring minimal impact on its production and services due to these natural calamities.
