NHPC Limited has officially completed its merger with Lanco Teesta Hydro Power Limited. According to an announcement made on January 27, 2025, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has approved the scheme of amalgamation, making it effective from this date. The appointed date for the merger, however, has been set retroactively to April 1, 2022.
This development follows the electronic filing of the certified copy of the MCA order with the Registrar of Companies by both the transferor (Lanco Teesta Hydro Power Limited) and transferee (NHPC Limited) companies.
The merger is expected to bolster NHPC’s capabilities in the hydropower sector and aligns with the company’s strategic focus on expanding its footprint in renewable energy. The integration process was meticulously planned, ensuring compliance with all SEBI regulations, including prior disclosures made as early as July 2, 2022.
This milestone marks another step in NHPC’s commitment to advancing India’s renewable energy infrastructure, promising operational efficiency and enhanced project execution in the hydropower domain.
