Nestlé India has taken a major step toward expanding its manufacturing footprint with the groundbreaking ceremony of its upcoming factory in Khordha, Odisha. This will be the company’s tenth manufacturing unit in India and the first in the eastern region of the country.
The event was marked by the presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, who lauded the company’s investment and assured continued support for the project. Nestlé plans to build a state-of-the-art, digitally managed, sustainable facility that emphasizes gender diversity and environment-friendly practices.
“With a steadfast adherence to ‘Make in India’, we had announced our tenth factory in Odisha, reaffirming the significance of India as a market,” said Suresh Narayanan, Chairman and Managing Director of Nestlé India. “This facility will manufacture products from our foods portfolio and support our long-term growth plans.”
The initial investment in the first phase of the Khordha factory is pegged at approximately ₹900 crore. The facility is expected to produce items from Nestlé’s prepared dishes and cooking aids category.
The company’s last new manufacturing site was set up in Sanand, Gujarat, in 2021. With this new unit, Nestlé continues its long-term commitment to the Indian market, further strengthening its supply chain network to meet growing consumer demand.
