Mahindra reported a strong start to 2026, with total auto sales rising 24% year-on-year to 104,309 vehicles in January, driven by robust demand across utility vehicles, tractors, and the trucks and buses segment.

In the utility vehicles segment, Mahindra sold 63,510 SUVs in the domestic market during January, marking a 25% growth compared with the same month last year. Total passenger vehicle sales stood at 63,510 units, while domestic commercial vehicle sales rose 22% to 27,656 units. Export volumes increased 5% year-on-year to 3,577 units.

The company said it also recorded a major milestone during the month, with bookings for XUV7XO and XEV 9S touching 93,689 units within four hours of opening, translating into a booking value of Rs 20,500 crore.

Mahindra’s farm equipment business delivered an equally strong performance. Domestic tractor sales surged 46% year-on-year to 38,484 units in January 2026, while total tractor sales, including exports, rose 47% to 40,643 units. Tractor exports jumped 72% to 2,159 units during the month.

The trucks and buses business also posted solid growth, with combined sales from Mahindra Trucks & Buses and SML Mahindra rising 40% year-on-year to 3,065 vehicles. Cargo vehicle sales increased 49%, while passenger vehicle volumes climbed 30%.

Mahindra said demand remained supported by infrastructure spending, replacement demand, strong rural activity, and improving freight movement during the quarter.
