Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has announced a major international win in the renewable energy space, securing a key role in Dutch-German grid operator TenneT’s landmark offshore wind programme. The engineering giant will collaborate with Hitachi Energy to deliver advanced High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) converter stations — a critical component for connecting large-scale offshore wind power to Europe’s electricity grid.
The development marks a significant milestone in L&T’s global clean-energy strategy and underlines India’s growing participation in the global renewable infrastructure supply chain. The HVDC solution will support grid development across the North Sea, accelerating Europe’s transition to sustainable energy.
L&T highlighted that its selection reinforces confidence in its capability to execute complex, technology-intensive offshore wind projects. Supported by its global-scale fabrication facilities and strong engineering ecosystem, the company continues to strengthen its offshore wind presence across Europe.
S N Subrahmanyan, Chairman & MD, L&T, said the achievement reflects the company’s rising global credibility in renewable infrastructure delivery, while Deputy MD & President Subramanian Sarma noted the milestone further validated L&T’s expertise in HVDC transmission and offshore execution.
The deal aligns with L&T’s broader sustainability and energy-transition strategy as the company targets opportunities in the global offshore wind and green-energy engineering market.
