The Government of Maharashtra has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Lodha Developers Ltd for the development of a Green Integrated Data Centre Park in Palava, located in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

The proposed project involves a total investment of ₹30,000 crore and is expected to create around 6,000 direct and indirect jobs. Designed with a planned capacity of 2 gigawatts (GW), the park will accommodate multiple domestic and international data centre operators, with Lodha Developers serving as the developer.

The agreement follows the state government’s Green Integrated Data Centre Parks Policy, introduced in October 2024, which mandates that data centres—major consumers of electricity—operate on green and alternative energy sources.

Maharashtra had earlier identified Integrated Data Centres as a thrust area for industrial growth in 2019. With rising demand driven by cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), and digital services, the government aims to establish three such parks across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region under the new policy.

The Palava data centre park is one of the projects under this initiative, with combined investments expected from Lodha Developers and participating data centre companies.
