Lemon Tree Hotels Limited, India’s fastest-growing mid-scale and premium hotel chain, has announced the launch of its newest managed property — Lemon Tree Hotel, Motihari — on October 31, 2025. The opening marks another key step in the company’s expansion across Eastern India and strengthens its presence in Bihar, where it already operates one property.
Located in the historic city of Motihari in East Champaran district, the new hotel offers travellers a blend of modern comfort and cultural richness. Motihari is known as the birthplace of author George Orwell and the starting point of Mahatma Gandhi’s Champaran Satyagraha, giving the destination deep historical importance. The city also serves as a gateway to Nepal and is well connected to major hubs like Patna and Darbhanga, making it ideal for both business and leisure visitors.
The hotel comprises 50 well-appointed rooms and suites across different categories. In its first phase, 32 rooms, along with the Citrus Café (a multi-cuisine restaurant), Tangerine Grand 1 and 2 banquet halls, a Boardroom, spa, fitness centre, and swimming pool are now open to guests.
In the second phase, the property will unveil 18 additional rooms and introduce Kebab Theater, a modern Indian specialty restaurant offering kebabs, tikkas, and regional delicacies, along with the final banquet venue, Tangerine.
Speaking about the launch, Mr. Vishvapreet Singh Cheema, President of Lemon Tree Hotels, said, “Motihari stands as a city of deep historical and cultural relevance, marking an important chapter in India’s independence movement. With the opening of Lemon Tree Hotel, Motihari, we are pleased to extend our signature comfort and warmth to travellers visiting this iconic destination, blending modern hospitality with the city’s timeless charm.”
