Krebs Biochemicals & Industries Limited announced that it has been directed to immediately cease all production activities at its manufacturing unit located in Kothapalli (V), Kasimkota (M), Anakapalli District, Andhra Pradesh. The directive comes from the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) due to alleged violations of pollution control norms and conditions related to the consent to operate the industrial unit.
In its letter dated 7th February 2025, received by the company on 9th February 2025, the APPCB emphasized that non-compliance with operating standards led to this decisive action. The company disclosed this information under Regulation 30 of SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015.
Financial Impact
The company has acknowledged that this halt in production could negatively impact its income and profitability. The extent of the impact will depend on the duration of the shutdown. The management has assured stakeholders that immediate steps will be taken to meet compliance requirements and secure the necessary approvals to resume production at the earliest.
Company’s Response
Rakesh R. Kalbate, Company Secretary & Compliance Officer, stated that Krebs Biochemicals is working closely with the Pollution Control Board to address the issues and resume operations.
This development could potentially disrupt ongoing manufacturing and sales activities, which the company aims to mitigate by swiftly implementing corrective measures.
