Knowledge Marine & Engineering Works Limited (KMEW) has received a fresh work order from the New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) for the hiring of one River Sea Vessel (RSV) Type IV Security Patrol Boat. The company disclosed the development in an exchange filing dated December 3, 2025.

According to the filing, the contract will run for a period of five years and is valued at ₹10,66,43,732, inclusive of GST. The work order includes providing the vessel along with all required manpower, while the cost of High Speed Diesel (HSD) will be excluded from KMEW’s scope.

In its press release, the company confirmed that this is the second work order awarded by NMPA for a similar security patrol vessel, strengthening the company’s presence in the maritime security segment. The patrol boat will be deployed exclusively for security operations at New Mangalore Port, focusing on patrolling and monitoring port waters to ensure the safety of vessels, personnel, and critical infrastructure.

KMEW stated that the patrol boat will be constructed in-house, enabling cost efficiency and timely deployment. The company highlighted that it currently provides patrol boat services to five of India’s twelve major ports, reinforcing its national footprint in maritime operations.

Commenting on the work order, CEO Sujay Kewalramani said the repeat contract underscores KMEW’s role in India’s maritime security ecosystem and reflects the government’s increasing focus on strengthening port operations and ancillary services.

The company also confirmed that the contract does not fall under related-party transactions, and neither the promoters nor the promoter group have any interest in the awarding entity.
