Kaynes Semicon Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Kaynes Technology India Limited, has achieved a major milestone in India’s semiconductor journey. The company has rolled out and shipped 900 Multi-Chip Modules (MCMs) — the Intelligent Power Module (IPM5) — from its advanced OSAT facility in Sanand on October 15, 2025.

This marks India’s first commercially manufactured multi-chip module under the India Semiconductor Mission 1.0, delivered to Alpha & Omega Semiconductor (AOS), a leading power semiconductor company headquartered in Sunnyvale, USA.

The IPM module integrates power switching components like IGBTs along with drive and protection circuits into a single compact package, enabling efficient motor control and other power applications. Each module houses 17 dies, including six IGBTs, two controller ICs, six FRDs, and three diodes — making it a highly advanced product in its segment.

Kaynes Semicon’s Sanand facility is built for a massive production capacity of 6.3 million chips per day once fully operational. The current shipment marks the start of commercial production for AOS, with full-scale mass production expected by January 2026. By early FY2026-27, output is expected to reach 1.5 million chips per day.
