Jupiter Tatravagonka Railwheel Factory Pvt. Ltd. (JTRF), a subsidiary of Jupiter Wagons Limited, has secured land in Haldiapada, Khordha, Odisha, for its upcoming Railwheel & Axle forging plant. This marks Odisha’s first private-sector railway heavy engineering industry and a significant milestone in India’s railway manufacturing sector.

JTRF plans to invest ₹2,500 crore in phases to establish a state-of-the-art facility with an annual production capacity of 100,000 forged wheelsets. Nearly 50% of production will be exported, primarily to Tatravagonka A.S., Slovakia, and other European companies.

The Government of Odisha, under CM Shri Mohan Charan Majhi and Industries Minister Shri Sampada Chandra Swain, played a crucial role in facilitating this project through the Invest Odisha initiative. The land was acquired from the IDCO land bank with statutory approvals, ensuring a smooth development process.

Located just 30 km from the airport, the Khordha industrial zone is an emerging hub for high-tech industries. With operations set to begin by 2027, the plant will enhance India’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives, creating thousands of direct and indirect jobs while reducing import dependency.

Equipped with cutting-edge technology, the facility will produce high-performance railway components, supporting high-speed and high-load efficiency operations. Odisha’s business-friendly policies, including the Industrial Policy Resolution (IPR) and global investment programs, have attracted major industries, reinforcing the state’s position as a manufacturing powerhouse.
