Jupiter Tatravagonka Railwheel Factory Pvt. Ltd., a key division of Jupiter Wagons Limited (JWL), has secured a prestigious ₹255 crore contract from Braithwait & Co. to supply 9,140 high-performance wheelsets. This order reinforces Jupiter’s position as a leader in domestic railway wheelset manufacturing, supporting India’s push for self-reliance in advanced mobility solutions.
With this latest contract, Jupiter’s total order book has surged to ₹560 crore, highlighting its growing influence in railway infrastructure. The company is now targeting ₹600 crore in revenue from its wheel business by FY26, nearly doubling its current contribution. This ambitious growth will be driven by increased production capacity, strong order inflows, and enhanced domestic manufacturing.
To achieve this, Jupiter is investing ₹2,500 crore in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Odisha. This expansion will significantly boost its production capacity from 20,000 forged wheels and axles per year to an impressive 1,00,000 forged wheelsets annually. The facility is on track, with axle production expected to commence by December 2026, followed by full-scale wheel and axle production by December 2027.
Beyond rail manufacturing, Jupiter is also making strides in sustainable mobility through its EV division, Jupiter Electric Mobility Pvt. Ltd. The company is set to launch JEM TEZ, a commercial electric vehicle, on March 3, 2025, in Indore. This move aligns with Jupiter’s vision of expanding into future-ready transportation solutions.
