JSW Steel Limited, one of India’s leading steel producers, announced its consolidated crude steel production for August 2025 at 27.03 lakh tonnes, registering a 17% year-on-year (YoY) growth compared to 23.16 lakh tonnes in August 2024.
The growth was primarily driven by higher output from Indian operations, which contributed 26.15 lakh tonnes, up 16% from 22.49 lakh tonnes in the same month last year. Meanwhile, JSW Steel USA – Ohio produced 0.88 lakh tonnes, compared to 0.67 lakh tonnes in August 2024.
In a key development, JSW Vijayanagar Metallics Ltd (JVML), a wholly owned subsidiary of the company, successfully commissioned its second converter on 30th August 2025. With this milestone, JSW Steel’s overall Indian crude steel capacity has reached 34.2 MTPA, which is now fully operational.
The company also reported strong operational performance with capacity utilisation at 95% across its Indian operations during the month.
