JSW Steel Ltd has announced a 12% year-on-year (YoY) growth in its consolidated crude steel production for February 2025, reaching 24.07 lakh tonnes. The company reported a capacity utilization of 93.5% across its Indian operations.

Key Highlights:

  • Indian Operations: Produced 23.32 lakh tonnes, reflecting a 13% YoY increase compared to February 2024.
  • JSW Steel USA (Ohio): Produced 0.75 lakh tonnes, slightly lower than last year’s 0.91 lakh tonnes.
  • Overall Consolidated Production: 24.07 lakh tonnes, up from 21.50 lakh tonnes in February 2024.

Strategic Expansion & Future Plans

JSW Steel, the flagship entity of the $24 billion JSW Group, has continued its expansion efforts. The company’s domestic crude steel capacity stands at 32.5 MTPA, expected to increase to 34.2 MTPA with the full commissioning of the Vijayanagar expansion project. The long-term goal is to expand consolidated capacity to 43.5 MTPA over the next three years.

JSW Steel has also committed to sustainability goals, including:

  • CO₂ Emissions Reduction: Aiming for a 42% reduction by 2030.
  • Carbon Neutrality Target: By 2050 for all operations under direct control.
  • Renewable Energy Usage: Transitioning to 100% renewable energy-powered steel production by 2030.

With its strong research and innovation capabilities, the company continues to collaborate with JFE Steel of Japan to develop high-value steel products for industries such as automotive, construction, infrastructure, and electrical appliances.
