JSW Renew Energy Forty Five Limited, a step-down subsidiary of JSW Energy Limited, has taken a significant step toward expanding its clean energy footprint by signing a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM). The agreement pertains to a grid-connected 100 MW solar power project integrated with a 100 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), marking another strategic move in JSW Energy’s transition towards sustainable energy solutions.

The upcoming solar and battery project will be developed on a designated site in Karnataka and linked to the 220/400 kV KPTCL Firozabad substation located in Kalaburagi district. As per the agreement, the PPA will run for a 25-year tenure, with the tariff fixed at ₹4.31 per kWh. This initiative is expected to contribute meaningfully to Karnataka’s clean energy goals while enhancing grid stability through the integration of energy storage.

With the signing of this agreement, JSW Energy’s total committed energy storage capacity now stands at an impressive 29.4 GWh. This includes 3.0 GWh from battery energy storage systems and 26.4 GWh from pumped hydro storage projects. The company is actively accelerating its storage portfolio and is on track to achieve its ambitious target of reaching 40 GWh of total energy storage capacity by 2030.
