JSW Energy Limited has announced the successful commissioning of 261 MW of renewable energy capacity, which includes 189 MW of solar and 72 MW of wind. With this addition, the company’s total installed capacity has risen to 12,760 MW.
The first quarter of FY26 saw a total capacity addition of 1.9 GW, achieved through a combination of organic developments and acquisitions. The share of renewables in JSW Energy’s overall portfolio has now grown to 56 percent, with significant contributions from wind, solar, and hydro projects. This timely addition positions the company to benefit from peak renewable generation seasons, supporting higher clean energy output and better utilization of its assets.
JSW Energy now has a total locked-in generation capacity of 29.9 GW, which includes 12.8 GW of operational assets, 12.5 GW under construction, and a 4.6 GW pipeline across various energy sources. Additionally, the company has secured 29.3 GWh of energy storage capacity, comprising 26.4 GWh from hydro pumped storage and 2.9 GWh from battery storage systems.
Looking ahead, JSW Energy is targeting 30 GW of total generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by FY2030. The company also reaffirmed its long-term commitment to sustainability with a goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2050.
